The Universitat de València (www.uv.es), founded in 1499, stands out as one of the main public research organisations in Spain. It has over three thousand researchers, who make up 90 departments, 19 institutes and other research units belonging to the social, biomedical, human, experimental and formal sciences. The UVEG counts on central services of management: European research projects


Office (OPER), and the Technology Transfer Office (OTRI), and several central services within the reach of the scientific community, the institutions and the industry.


UVEG also offers the necessary infrastructures and up-to- date instrumental equipment to guarantee quality of a vast scientific and technological offer to the service of society.

The University of Valencia has participated and is participating in several European projects under the subsequent RTD European Framework Programmes (I to VII) and other European programmes / Actions: ERASMUS, SOCRATES, LEONARDO, INTAS, EQUAL, Community action programme "AIDS and other communicable diseases"… having experience in the development and management of more than 300 European Projects.


The University of Valencia takes part in VLC/Campus (http://www.vlc-campus.com/en), an action that has been distinguished as a Campus of International Excellence, a stamp of quality awarded by the Spanish Ministry for Science and Innovation. The objective of VLC/Campus is to become a hub of knowledge of international excellence, through specialization of scientific-technological production in health, communication and sustainability.


The University of Valencia Science Park (ParcCientífic de la Universitat de València-PCUV) (http://www.pcuv.es/home) currently includes over eighty companies generating close to 500 direct jobs, mainly from the ICT and biotechnology sectors, working in an environment of synergy with academia and increasingly involved in the creation of new initiatives for the enrichment of the production system.


There is a traditional relationship between the University Clinic Hospital of Valencia and the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Valencia, regularized through the Hospital´s Biomedical Research Foundation (INCLIVA) (http://www.incliva.es/), as search groups of excellence in biomedicine belong to both institutions. This Hospital is head of a Health Department that provides care to over 300.000 citizens.


UVEG is member of the European Innovation Partnership on Active and Healthy Ageing- EIPAHA and contributes with 10 commitments addressed to the Action Groups A3, B3, C2 and D4.
